Web DesignWeb Development

EgyGo (egygo.ca) is a trilingual service marketplace connecting the Egyptian community across Canada with service providers who speak their language. I designed and built the entire platform, brand, UX, and full stack implementation in Next.js and Supabase, and made the product and trust decisions a marketplace lives or dies on.

The Problem

Finding a trusted, Arabic speaking service provider in Canada mostly happens through word of mouth and sprawling WhatsApp groups, recommendations get buried, there's no way to compare providers, and newcomers with limited English are the worst served. A marketplace for this community had to work natively in English, Arabic, and French, handle right to left layout as a first class concern rather than an afterthought, and build trust without overpromising: as a platform, you can't legally guarantee a stranger's work, so the trust model had to come from design, not claims.

The Solution

I built the platform in Next.js, TypeScript, and Supabase, with all three locales treated as equals, every piece of copy ships in English, Arabic, and French, with natural Arabic rather than machine translated filler, and full RTL layout support. The trust model is structural instead of promotional. Provider ranking is driven by real trust signals with Bayesian smoothing, so a provider with three genuine reviews isn't buried under one with a single five star rating, and new providers get a fair discovery boost instead of a cold start. Profile completeness acts as a publication gate: incomplete profiles simply don't go live. Deliberately, nowhere on the platform does the word 'verified' or 'guaranteed' appear, trust is earned through signals users can inspect, not badges the platform hands out. I also ran a full customer perspective and security audit before launch: hardening Supabase row level security so no private data is exposed through the public API, fixing silent form failures, and writing an automated regression script that re verifies the security posture on every change.

Results

EgyGo is in its final pre launch stage, with the full platform built, security audited, and live in three languages. The next milestone is onboarding the founding cohort of providers. The project demonstrates the full stack of what I do: brand and UX for a specific underserved community, production engineering, and the unglamorous trust and safety decisions that make a marketplace usable.
